GMAAN Black History Month Celebration: The General Motors African Ancestry Network will be holding its 13th annual Black History Month Celebration at the Detroit Renaissance Marriott. The event will feature a buffet and live musical performances by Brandy and Dr. Karen Clark-Sheard. Along with Jeff Friday鈥檚 keynote speech, a special appearance will be made by Yvonne Orji. Adam Sandler: The iconic comedian will be doing stand-up at the Fox Theatre on Friday as part of his 100% Fresher Tour. Empty Bowls Detroit Painting Workshop: Exercise your creativity while giving back to the community at this ceramic-painting workshop. All proceeds will go toward Empty Bowls Detroit鈥檚 mission of fighting and raising awareness for hunger in metro Detroit. United We Brunch: Fight off Friday night鈥檚 hangover with this Saturday morning brunch fest. The event, which will span two venues, will feature selections from some of metro Detroit鈥檚 best brunch spots, including Toast, Otus Supply, Parks & Rec and Jim Brady鈥檚, plus drinks including bloody marys, mimosas, beer and champagne.
