The Pontiac Creative Arts Center (PCAC) proudly presents acclaimed artist and Kresge Fellowship recipient Bryant Tillman for our first exhibit of the year. “The Anthropocene” art exhibit will run from Saturday, February 25th through Sunday, March 26th. A wine and cheese reception will take place on Saturday, February 25th, from 6 pm to midnight, featuring an artist talk at 8 pm.

Admission is free, and all are welcome. The Pontiac Creative Arts Center is located at 47 Williams Street in the Franklin Boulevard Historical District of Pontiac, Michigan.

Mr.Tillman has titled this exhibit “The Anthropocene – the current geological age where human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and environment, specifically during the industrial revolution.”

The art exhibition will feature work created specifically for this show, including a recent painting entitled “my island #33”. It will also highlight work from private collectors, who enthusiastically have lent Mr. Tillmans’ artwork to the Pontiac Creative Arts Center for all to enjoy.

The PCAC board is thrilled to showcase this amazing and talented artist as we launch our 2023 art exhibition season. Mr. Tillman is a highly respected and accomplished artist whose work has been recognized by the Kresge Foundation, peers, and scholars. This promises to be an outstanding show, and we encourage everyone to visit our historic building and beautiful gallery space. Join us on Saturday, February 25th, from 6 pm to midnight for an incredible evening of art, celebration, lively conversation, and fun!
The Artist

Bryant Tillman has painted for 30 years. He was introduced to art by the late Cass Corridor painter Bradley Jones at Wayne County Community College. A field trip to the Impressionists wing at the Detroit Institute of Arts in 1983 forever changed this Detroiter’s destiny. Starting with modest exhibits in artists’ venues like the Detroit Artist Market, hipster spaces, and backyard soirees, Tillman developed a parallel interest in curatorial aspects of art presentation and soon became the “go-to” guy for guerilla venues in the ’80s and gallery management over the past decade.
