Fashion designer and Detroit native Tracy Reese is back with a virtual trunk show for her new Hope For Flowers collection. Starting today through April 6, customers can preorder select items from the summer/pre-fall 2021 collection . Preorders are expected to ship in July.

Many items are currently available for preorder. The full collection, expected to drop sometime this summer, features women鈥檚 dresses, skirts, blouses, and trousers in vibrant colors and bold patterns, signatures of Reese鈥檚 timeless designs. Garments are made from ethical fabrics including Tencel and organic cotton, which are staples for the brand.

Emergence is the theme of the collection; the line focuses on how there is a light at the end of the tunnel as the world continues through this pandemic. According to a press release, after a year of clothing being the least of people鈥檚 concerns, the oversized and fitted silhouettes are meant to encourage and energize wearers wherever they鈥檙e at in their style expression right now.

Offering select items for preorder reflects Hope For Flower鈥檚 commitment to sustainability. The presale allows the brand to get an idea of what customers want, which affects what styles and quantities are ordered for production and can result in less waste.

Reese started her Hope For Flowers brand in 2019 after moving home to Detroit with goals to pivot her business to a more sustainable model and continue making the city a hub for garment production. The brand鈥檚 commitment to ethical sourcing, working closely with factories, and supporting local retailers all reflect Reese鈥檚 desire to combat excess waste created by fast fashion and promote social responsibility.

Reese is also planning for fewer, targeted drops throughout the year. And to continue the Hope For Flowers mission of empowering the community through arts education, her team plans to host classes and workshops at the brand鈥檚 headquarters later this year when it鈥檚 safer.
