Kick-off of the holiday season with the 18th annual Detroit Tree Lighting, which is back in person after last year鈥檚 virtual event. Those shopping for a sneakerhead this holiday season won鈥檛 want to miss eBay鈥檚 Hard to Find Sneaker Shop. The pop-up will visit just a handful of select cities, bringing with it some of the rarest and most sought-after kicks on the market, all available for purchase. Kane Brown
Kane Brown and his pop and R&B-tinged style of country music began raising eyebrows immediately upon the 2016 release of his self-titled debut album, which reached No. 1 on Billboard鈥檚 Top Country Albums chart. The heartrending independent drama Eyimofe, from twin co-directors Arie and Chuko Esiri, garnered widespread acclaim when it debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2020. Audiences were dazzled by the film鈥檚 rich colors and textures, and critics praised the use of neorealist storytelling to paint a vivid portrait of the swarming streets and intricate social fabric of contemporary Lagos, Nigeria. Leni Sinclair听and Gary Grimshaw
This weekend, Edo Ramen House and Lounge will hold a one-night-only exhibition showcasing works from two of Detroit鈥檚 most prolific artists. Music photographer and Kresge Award recipient Leni Sinclair shot artists including Iggy Pop, MC5, Aretha Franklin, John Coltrane, and Jimi Hendrix. She was also a local leader of the counter-culture movement in the 1960s and 鈥70s. Celebrated poster artist Gary Grimshaw, who practiced his craft concurrently, was a trailblazer of psychedelic art and design.
